About us
Go everywhere and anywhere with these rugged pants built for girls 8-17. Designed by backpackers and trail tested by actual Girl Scouts, Dry Thread pants are wind and water resistant, offer roomy pockets, adjustable waists, removable legs (that won’t get hung on boots), a hook for water bottles and reflective tape that makes them easier to spot outdoors in the dark.
Plus! They look cool.
A group of former Girl Scouts gave us feedback on every aspect of the design. And we listened.
Fit for the Trail
These pants feel great, too. We use a high-tech nylon knit specifically designed to be lightweight, wind-resistant and quick-drying while holding up to rugged use. Our pants breath yet feel soft like cotton.
Designed by Backpackers
Our pants are cut to fit female bodies. But they also provide helpful features. The pockets are big enough for cell phones and other essentials. Other benefits include an adjustable waist, built-in clip for water bottles and reflective tape that could be used as a signal in emergency situations.
The Importance of Proper Materials
Experienced backpackers say cotton kills, and this can literally be true. It’s heavy. It chafes. And it’s notoriously bad at shedding moisture, meaning when it gets wet, it stays wet for a long time. This causes rashes, blisters and can lead to hypothermia.
Artemis Trail uses a high-tech nylon knit specifically designed to be lightweight, waterproof, wind-resistant and quick-drying while holding up to rugged use. It is breathable yet feels soft like cotton.
They Survived ... No, Thrived ... in Big Bend
Big Bend National Park is a great testing ground for trail gear. It's rugged. Full of jagged rocks. Prickly plants. Lots of barbs, needles, and sharp edges to snag fabrics and tear holes.
This was the first place our prototype Switchback Pants got a trail test, and the reviews were great. Plus they really stood out!
